New stuff includes: pyrite, rhyolite with quartz (under misc), quartz, garnet, petrified wood, calcite, petoskey stones (under fossils), lazulite, wavellite and lots of geodes.

Check it out!

I have just stumbled upon this wonderful site while looking for true rockhounds who would get true enjoyment out of my late brothers' rock collection. There are too many different types to mention but we were military brats who traveled extensively and my brother searched wherever we went. He stopped collecting after college but we have held on to his collection out of sentiment until now. I am totally unaware of all the names but I do know that there is a nice collection of fossils. There are several 'lists' that were with the collection but I have no idea if they're accurate anymore (I have 2 kids who may have 'borrowed' from time to time). The list shows about 40 different names including halite, oolite, alabaster, shist, obsidion, turrtella (sp?) agate, fieldspar, several different quartz names, mica, etc. He even has petrified wood! Please contact me if you have any interest in this modest collection & thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings! Happy hunting! -Kerry-
