JOIN A CLUB!Find and join a sanctioned rockhounding club! For less than a couple bucks a month, you can take advantage of all the many benefits a club offers, including exclusive access to certain collecting sites - even if you are unable to make it to the meetings. It is always best that the club that you join is a member of a larger organization (for instance, the Southeast Federation of Mineralogical Societies).
Make sure that any club that you considering joining has liability insurance, constitution and by-laws.
