The marble in this story is beautiful........I have found a local deposit in northern california...that is grey, white, and some other muted colors in banding thru out the pieces.....I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to, or knows how one, might go about dying some of this marble as an experiment...since it already has nice banding...I am wondering is the dying might alter the bands in different ways......thanks for any help......Rich

Mike, as always, your reports are a thing of beauty. And your cabs are wonderful! The colors in that marble are enough to make me drool... I keep thinking of ice cream or maybe really fancy fudge...and I just ate! LOL. Chrissy, your wrap is lovely, also.

Hi Rich - Yep, the marble is certainly pretty and quite varied in its colors and patterns. I don't know about dying marble, but wouldn't dream of doing it to the Nantahala rocks anyway.

Hi Junesse - Thank you from Chrissy and me! If you liked those cabochons, you're really going to enjoy the following pictures of a few more . . .

Hey Mike

I don't know how the rest view these stone samples but they kinda look like pieces of pineapple!

Maybe you have a new name for the type of rock...Pineapple Stone!
