| #1 | Well, last night at our annual banquet I was sworn in as the next president of the Flint Rock and Gem Club.
I was given my first official task that same night. The local arts council is selling ad space in a 2010 calendar they are having printed, and I was to make up an ad and get it to them by the deadline....the next day! After we got home I spent the next two hours coming up with this ad.

Today I met the person from the arts council and set it all up.
First job done, on to the next... |

| #3 | Congrats, Jim! Good ad. I don't know your club's situation, but be wary of solicitations from folks selling ad space and make sure its something that will be productive for you and within your budget. I do a lot of 2x2 and larger ads for my company and am constantly getting calls to advertise in random papers and publications and really have to judge what will work and be cost effective and what won't. Most folks you send ads to have a graphics dept that can create the ads for you if you provide them with the pics and text. Keep the proofs they email to you to send to other publications.
You'll do a great job! Be true to yourself. |

| #6 | Hey Jim congratulations!!
I've belonged to several organizations and clubs in my life and always admired those who went through the "seats".
I never had the "smarts" for it but ALWAYS made it up to the guys by doing this and that for all as a thank you for what they do.
Ya didn't do it the ACORN way did ya?? lol
